From photographs of family members from generations ago to the newest family photograph, all photographs are special and unique. Our photo restoration and optimisation service gives your photographs a new lease of life, where the finished photograph can be shared with others once again. Photograph restoration is repairing rips and tears, correcting fading and blemishes, adjusting tone, contrast, brightness and colour levels or even involves the removal of a person or background from a group shot. Our photo restoration services also include merging two photos, for example where you may wish to complete a family group from two different photographs, nothing is impossible. We provide red eye removal too. Restored or optimised photographs make an exciting and different gift too. (top^) The restoration process: Photo restoration, optimisation and effects application. Every photograph is accessed on an individual basis. We will advise you if we recommend a higher level or restoration than indicated or if we think a particular effect request is unsuitable especially where we may be able to suggest an alternative photo finish. Once the level of restoration is agreed, we begin by digitally scanning the original - this means the original photograph remains untouched and can be returned in its original photographic state be it print, slide, negative, large format or even digital file. Several passes or layers are then individually optimised removing blemishes or building up information to correct tears etc, more layers where detailed photo restoration is required. These layers are then re-constructed into a whole image and the final result undergoes further photo tonal and colour adjustment optimisation before work is complete. All stages are carried out by hand so you are assured of the highest levels of care and quality of the finished restored photo. Our photographic restoration and optimisation uses the latest scanning and software technologies from Epson, Adobe, HP and others. Our external photo stretched canvas and photo gift reproduction is carefully monitored by Fabulous Photo Gifts. When sending your photographs for restoration and if possible, we suggest enclosing a photocopy of the photograph to help illustrate areas you want cropping, removing or adding. This speeds up the process and allows us to return a restored or optimised photo as close to your original desires as possible. More details are on our downloadable photo restoration order form. (top^) Returning your restored photograph: Included within our charges is a standard recorded delivery return of your restored photograph, the original plus a digital copy of the restored photograph on CD. At Fabulous Photo Gifts, we try to exceed your expectations by supplying a digital copy as standard when many other photo restoration services charge extra for this service. Similarly, we recommend for all photographs, slides, negatives, large format and digital files to be sent to us together with our order form and deposit by Recorded Delivery as we cannot accept any responsibility for your photographs etc until actual receipt at our offices.
